DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a Revenue Cycle Management consultant during the sales cycle assists in the evaluation of prospective client

Job Description:
The Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the activities of all Revenue Cycle Specialists and staff. The position includes direct contact with staff, insurance companies, and patients. Additionally, this individual is responsible for ensuring completeness and timeliness of all invoicing, as well as weekly and monthly reporting to the stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the Revenue Cycle Management of the Oncology practice by assisting the general staff.
  • Ensure that all billing invoices, statements, daily reports, and productivity reports are complete, timely and accurate.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with Client clinic ownership and staff.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the Oncology medical billing process and clearinghouse transactions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the current EMR and Practice Management system and perform ongoing training with staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot system interfaces between the EMR, Practice Management system.
  • Provide oversight to A/R Collection efforts and distribute progress update reports to Client clinic ownership monthly.
  • Oversee all denied claims; acting as a liaison between Clients and Company internal staff primarily for information exchange but also to seek avoidable trends.
  • Work daily/weekly/monthly Carryover Reports and Errors and Omissions Reports to ensure efficient and effective workflow. Communicate findings to Company leadership.
  • Possess a detailed understanding of claims submission and adjudication process.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of payers including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/PPO’s, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new and changing laws and regulations regarding billing issues.
