Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)

During the ’90s, new federal rules made many physicians think twice about starting in-office labs. But doctors have grown less intimidated by the rules, and today, in-office labs are quickly becoming an indispensable feature of many physician practices.

A few of the tests that can be performed in an in-office lab (general practice and are eligible for reimbursement) include: basic metabolic panel, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, drug screen, urinalysis, albumin, colorectal screening, creatinine, lead, potassium, protein, some hemoglobin tests, influenza A or B, streptococcus, and nasal smears. There are even more for specialists.

At PRG,Inc. we work with seasoned laboratory consultants from assisting with your initial application and understanding all the way through the inspection, providing that extra boost to experienced lab technicians to ensure survey success and quality service.
